Cardoso blames food inflation on Nigerian govt’s palliatives purchase

The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Olayemi Cardoso has blamed the rising food inflation on the purchase of foodstuffs as palliatives by the Federal Government.

Cardoso stated this in his contributions at the March Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting and published on CBN’s website

Ripples Nigeria reports that food inflation stood at 40.01% in March up from 37.92% in February.
