Nurses, Midwives Are Our Partners In Progress – Otti

Abia State governor, Alex Otti has said nurses and midwives are partners in progress of his administration and appealed to them to put in their best to serve the people better.

Otti stated this when he hosted members of the state council of National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives in his office in Umuahia, the state capital.

Represented by his chief of staff, Caleb Ajagba, he appealed to them to embrace modern health technology and new methods of doing things to achieve optimal result.

I, urge you to handle with outmost care and protect healthcare equipment in your clinic as well as come up with ideas on how the administration can deliver quality healthcare service,“ he noted.

Otti, who commended them for their commitment to improving the health sector of the state, added that the administration is focused on improving the sector and medical workers welfare.

Earlier in her address, the chairman of the council, Ngozi Dike congratulated the governor on his recent victory at the Supreme Court and the various achivements he had recorded.

 

She appealed to the administration to assist the chapter in sponsoring 50 of the members in attending the 2024 International Nurses And Midwives Celebration in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

 

Dike noted the importance of appointing the members as board members and appointees, and implementation of Consolidated Health Salary Structure at the local government level.

 

Furthermore, the chairman urged the administration to engage new nurses and midwives to replace those who have retired to lessen work load on the serving ones.
