Bode George: No Regrets Not Supporting Jandor for Lagos Gov Election

Bode George, former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has revealed that he does not regret not supporting Olajide Adediran, the PDP candidate in the Lagos State governorship election held on March 18.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday, George said that he and a group he belongs to called Omo Eko Pataki decided to support the candidate with the best credentials, regardless of political affiliation.

He explained that the candidate who won the PDP ticket was not the most qualified to run for governor of Lagos State. George had supported Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party in the election which was eventually won by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the All Progressives Congress (APC). The PDP chieftain added that the party needs to address the issues that led to the withdrawal of support by G5 governors and elders, and also called for unity within the party.

He stated that he is ready to retire from politics following the emergence of Bola Tinubu as President-Elect after the February 25 presidential election, and emphasized his right to live wherever he chooses.
