FAAN to close Lagos international airport runways for eight weeks maintenance

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced that it will close runways 18R and 36L at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos for maintenance.

FAAN made this known in a tweet on Monday, March 11, 2023.

The agency said work on the runways will span for eight weeks.

It further assured that normal airline activities would not be affected, as runway 18L/36R remains open to full flight operations.

“The Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos Runway 18R/36L is closed for Maintenance effective 11th March for a period of 8 weeks, while Runway 18L/36R remains open to full flight operations.

“We request the kind understanding and cooperation of all our stakeholders towards achieving this very important safety/security objective.”
