“I want to play in the Champions League”- Plzen’s Nigerian forward reveals targets

The youngster just joined the Czech Republic champions, and he has his sights on great heights

New Nigerian Viktoria Plzen signing Rafiu Durosinmi has revealed that his target is to play in the UEFA Champions League.

Durosinmi’s journey in Eyripe started in 2019 when he joined Czech Republic side Karvina from Nigerian amateur team Box2Box FC.

The 20-year-old striker’s blend of pace and intelligence ensured that he quickly climbed up the ranks at the club. Durosinmi registered ten goals and six assists in 39 appearances for Karvina.

His displayed turned heads among the top sides in Czech Republic. And Viktoria Plzen snapped him up on a six-month loan deal earlier in January.

Durosinmi is enjoying his stay at the Czech Republic champions, and he has revealed that one of his major targets is to play in the Champions League.

“I am very happy that I got such a chance to play for Viktoria Plzen,” Durosinmi said in an interview on the Viktoria Plzen website.

“I watched Viktoria’s matches in the Champions League, it’s a really big team and I have to do my best to make it and maybe play here in the Champions League one day too.”

Durosinmi would look to help Viktoria Plzen defend their title as that would see them through to the Champions League qualifiers.

His transfer is a six-month loan deal, but there is also a buy clause in the contract.
