Europe records highest number of measles cases in 25 years – UN

Measles cases in Europe have doubled in just a year, with the highest number reported since 1997, according to UN agencies.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) and the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) announced this in a statement on Thursday.

“Measles is back, and it’s a wake-up call,” WHO regional director for the European region, Hans Kluge, said.
