The political crisis in Rivers State has deepened, with the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Tony Okocha, calling on Governor Siminalayi Fubara to either resign or face impeachment.
Okocha made this declaration while criticizing the governor’s recent invitation to the 27 lawmakers recognized by the Supreme Court as the legitimate members of the Rivers State House of Assembly. He dismissed the move as insincere, labeling it a “Greek gift.”
Governor Fubara had extended the invitation via a letter signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Tammy Danagogo, following the Supreme Court’s ruling affirming the lawmakers’ legitimacy.
