No incident of state-sponsored violence, A’Ibom replies YPP

The Akwa Ibom State Government has declared that it has not in the past seven and a half years of present administration recorded any incident of state-sponsored violence.

It, therefore, assured the citizens and residents that the Peoples Democratic Peoples-led administration would not fail to visit anyone who brought any form of political unrest to the state with the full weight of the law.

The state government was reacting to recent allegations by the state Chairman of the Young Progressives Party Campaign Council, Emem Akpabio, who had issued a press statement alleging impending attack against the party by the state government.

In a statement signed by the state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Ini Ememobong, and made available to our correspondent in Uyo on Wednesday, the State Government compared such alarm by the YPP “to a murderer who is always afraid of someone walking behind him with a machete”.
