Jigawa Signs Mou With Uk Firms To Improve Learning Outcome At Basic Education

The Jigawa State Government has entered into a strategic partnership with NewGlobe—a United Kingdom-based education solution organization to support the state in Improving learning outcome in the basic education sector of the state.

The MoU signed at the Government House, Dutse,  seeks to provide a ground for partnership to strengthen teaching and learning for enhancing foundation skill in the state under a project known as ” Jigawa Unite”

Speaking at the event, Governor Malam Umar Namadi said, revitalization of the state education sector is part of his administration’s   12-point agenda design to make Jigawa prosperous and great.

“The history we are making today is that just by the fact that education is one of our 12-point agenda items, and within the last fourteen months, we have been doing our best to see how we can improve the  system,”

“So far, we have achieved so much. At the tertiary level, we organize all our tertiary institutions. We have brought in new management that is vibrant and now have changed the running of the institutions.”

However we recruited thousands of teachers, renovate and built new classrooms in basic Education, so this MOU is to strengthen the operational mechanism in teaching and learning as well as school monitoring to ensure better learning outcome that will equipt our children with effective foundation skill for advance education.

In this MOU 1,000 basic education  school will be use in this collaboration and we will closely monitor the performance and impact of the project, and we hope to see a fruitful results within short period time.

In his speech the representing NewGlobe, the Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Jay Kimmelman, commended the Governor’s visionary leadership, stating that “Together, with the launch of Jigawa UNITE, we’re going to transform the education to a better condition.

Our partnership is an investment for making effective basic Education to every child in the state , for them to reach their full potential.

“Education is the foundation for everlasting l prosperity.,  It’ is the surest path to economic growth and societal progress. As governor, we know you understand this, we assured you our determination to see Jigawa education move to next level.

 

The COO further emphasized that “Jigawa’s future will not be determined by its resources or geography but by the skills, knowledge, and creativity of its people.”

 

The initiative’s design considers Jigawa’s unique needs, with customized plans to ensure optimal outcomes.

 

According to the agreement, 50% of the state’s basic schools will implement Jigawa Unite, involving over 1,000 schools in the first phase, while the remaining schools will be managed by the state’s education teams to foster a healthy competition and ensure continuous improvement.

 

Among the key objectives of Jigawa UNITE are enhancing literacy and numeracy outcomes among children; supporting teachers with cutting-edge tools and methodologies; and engaging communities to foster a culture of education.
