President Bola Tinubu congratulated the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) on the successful revitalization of the Port Harcourt refinery, marking the official commencement of petroleum product loading on November 26, 2024. This milestone is a significant step towards achieving energy sufficiency in Nigeria.
The President acknowledged the crucial role played by former President Muhammadu Buhari in initiating the comprehensive rehabilitation of Nigeria’s refineries. He also expressed gratitude to the African Export-Import Bank for financing the project and commended the leadership of NNPC Limited’s Group Chief Executive Officer, Mele Kyari, for his dedication and commitment to overcoming challenges.
