Confusion in Edo as outgoing gov, Obaseki, says he’s not invited to Okpebholo’s inauguration

The political squabbles that trailed the campaigns and governorship election in Edo State has continued, creating confusions around who should handle the handover and inauguration of the governor-elect.

The outgoing governor of the state, Godwin Obaseki, has cried out over his non-invitation by the All Progressives Congress (APC), for the inauguration of his successor and governor-elect, Monday Okpebholo, which is scheduled for Tuesday, November 12.

Obaseki who raised the alarm on Saturday in Benin during the inauguration of a caretaker committee for the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), said the APC has refused to carry him along in the inauguration and has also refused to consult the state government.
