The House of Representatives Committee on Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Judiciary on Friday tasked judicial officers in the territory on fairness and accountability.

Rep. Adamu Gamawa, the Chairman of the Committee made the call at the meeting members in Abuja.

Gamawa was recently appointed by the Speaker of the House of Reps. Tajudeen Abbas as the substantive chairman of the committee.

While meeting with the members of the committee Gamawa, said that justice delayed is justice denied, stressing the need for efficiency and effectiveness in the administration of justice.

He said that the committee would proceed on an oversight visit to courts and other agencies within the judiciary.

He said the purpose of the oversight was to allow the legislators know the level of progress, challenges for better performance.

He said if the FCT Judiciary is on the right track, the progress would extend to other states in the country.

He called on relevant stakeholders in the judiciary to work together towards achieving the desired result. (NAN)
