The Police in Enugu, over the weekend, arrested and detained one of its officers in connection with the murder of popular traditional Ogene musician, Okezie Chikezie Mba, popularly known as Igbo-Jah.
Igbo-Jah met his untimely death at the hands of a Police Inspector serving in the Anti-Cultism Tactical Command Squad, Enugu, at about 8:10 pm on Friday, within the premises of the command.
The musician was reportedly leaving the squad’s headquarters after a friendly visit when, for reasons yet to be determined, the officer fired his rifle, fatally injuring him.
He was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead by the attending doctor. His body has been deposited in the mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
