Faith-based Drama ‘Eda Aye’ Set To Premiere In October

UK-based Nigerian cleric , Reverend Wisdom Akinpelu,  is set to release two Christian drama series in Nigeria this month: ‘Eda Aye (The Mankind) and The Strange Encounters.’

These 13-episode series aim to educate viewers on purposeful living and a Christ-centered life, addressing themes such as sexual immorality, ethics, guilt, reconciliation, and redemption. Akinpelu emphasises the importance of maintaining African cultural elements while offering biblical solutions to complex human issues.

He believes that these dramas will significantly impact Nigerian audiences by providing a unique blend of entertainment and spiritual guidance.

Akinpelu stated, “Using drama to declare biblical solutions to complex human problems can create a peaceful and prosperous society where  everyone lives a fulfilled life.”

Explaining that “Eda Aye (The Mankind)” explores ambition and morality, he said, “Eda Aye (The Mankind) presents a gripping narrative that delves into the intricate dynamics of ambition, morality, and the supernatural, framed by personal and spiritual struggles.

The film follows five individuals who pursue success and inner peace, only to confront formidable challenges that test their resolve. As they seek solutions, they uncover hidden secrets that ultimately lead to the relief they yearn for.

A significant theme in the movie is the detrimental impact of pornography on the lives of both youth and adults, highlighting the need for awareness and change.

Reverend Wisdom Akinpelu, founder of Wisdom Akinpelu Films International, previously released the television soap opera IRUBO-EJE (The Blood Sacrifice) in 2012, which explored the creation story and aired on AIT and other channels. His ministry recently launched The Covenant Friend, now available on YouTube.
