Hope of cheaper petrol rises as Dangote Refinery, independent marketers hold talks on crude lifting

Following the Federal Government’s approval of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) to lift crude directly from the Dangote Refinery, the two parties will meet later this week to discuss the modalities for the arrangement’s takeoff.

Top on the agenda of the meeting slated to take place either Tuesday or Wednesday is how to finalise agreements on the cost and lifting of the product from the refinery to arrive at a cheaper price for Nigerians.

IPMAN described the planned agreement with the Dangote refinery as a crucial step in its ongoing efforts to facilitate the lifting of petroleum products and ensure stability in the country’s fuel supply chain.
