Shettima wraps up UNGA 79 visit, returns to Nigeria

Kashim Shettima, Nigeria’s Vice President, on Sunday, returned to Abuja following his role in representing President Bola Tinubu at the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.

Shettima’s trip comes amid Nigeria’s ongoing efforts to strengthen international partnerships and address global challenges. His attendance at UNGA 79 was crucial, as it allowed Nigeria to amplify its voice on critical issues such as climate change, security, and sustainable development.

In his capacity as the representative, Shettima delivered Nigeria’s National Statement during the General Debate. “We stand at a pivotal moment in history, and Nigeria is committed to collaborating with the global community to tackle pressing challenges,” he stated.
