#Paris2024: Favour Ofili breaks a 28-year-old Olympic record for Nigeria

The Nigerian sprinter achieved this feat in her 200-meter semi-final race which she ran on Monday, August 5, 2024. Favour Ofili came second place with a time of 22.05s which is her season’s best behind 100 meters winner, Julien Alfred who won the race, crossing the line in a time of 21.98s.

Ofili is the first Nigerian to qualify for the Women’s 200-meter final for the first time in 28 years since Mary Onyali achieved this feat in Atlanta in 1996.
