Presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP) for the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi, yesterday, promised to decisively address insecurity and poverty if elected to lead Nigeria. He made the pledge while addressing reporters on the sidelines of the party’s strategic meeting in Abuja.
The former governor of Anambra State confirmed the appointment of Akin Osuntokun to replace Dr. Doyin Okupe as Director General of the LP’s Presidential Campaign Council, stating that a new Nigeria was possible.
His words: “Today, Nigerians are living in IDP (Internally Displaced Persons) camps in their country. This means they are IDPs in their own country, and we have been receiving many bad news all over the place.
“Within this month, a young lady, who went to work, was raped and killed in Jos, Plateau State, and on Christmas day, another lady, a lawyer, was gunned down in Lagos.
