In a show of appreciation, thousands of Ijaw people from Rivers State gathered in Port Harcourt, the state capital, over the weekend, to express their eternal gratitude to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Chief Nyesom Wike, for his role in appointing Siminalayi Fubara as the governor of the state.
The gathering, organized under the umbrella of the Rivers Ijaw Peoples’ Congress (RIPC), brought together leaders, women, youths, and traditional rulers from all Ijaw-speaking local government areas of the state.
