Liverpool footballer, Virgil Van Dijk, has revealed that three Afrobeats songs are among his top five tracks, noting their significant influence on his mood and performance on the football pitch. Van Dijk emphasised that these songs provide him with positive energy and vibes.

In an interview with EFL ahead of the upcoming Carabao Cup final against Premier League rival Chelsea, the renowned Dutch defender shared his fondness for Afrobeats. He named songs by Rema, Asake, and Omah Lay among his top five favorites. The highly anticipated Carabao Cup final is set to take place on February 26, 2024, at London’s iconic Wembley Stadium.

Van Dijk disclosed that Omah Lay’s “Holy Ghost,” Mase’s “Feel So Good,” and Notorious B.I.G’s “More Money More Problems” rank as his top three favorite tracks, showcasing his diverse musical taste and the role of music in his life on and off the field.
