Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has stated that he admires and respects President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for being a true federalist and advocate of the rule of law.
LEADERSHIP reports that the Supreme Court affirmed the victory of Governor Mohammed at the polls after the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Air Marshall Sadique Baba Abubakar (rtd), filed an appeal at the apex court.
Similarly, the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja validated the victory of the governor.
Also, the Bauchi State Governorship Election Tribunal affirmed the victory of Governor Mohammed.
The governor alleged that some political heavyweights from Bauchi State attempted to entrench feud and disaffection between him and the president in the wake of the legal battle that erupted over the result of the 2023 Bauchi governorship election.
“President Tinubu is a beacon of the rule of law worthy of emulation by all,” Governor Mohammed said.
The governor added that, “no amount of mischief will bring us down.”
The governor said the outcome of the court case right from the tribunal up to the Supreme Court has made him have more confidence in the judiciary. “I am grateful to the judiciary,” he insisted.
Governor Mohammed said he will do more to ensure that citizens of Bauchi live a happy life through meaningful projects and empowerment.
“I know people are hungry and angry, but the situation is different in Bauchi because of the little we are doing to improve the condition of our people,” he said.
Earlier, State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman, Hamza Koshe Akuyam, warned stakeholders from all backgrounds to shun insulting leaders, adding that anyone who becomes a leader must be supported and respected.
He advised the governor to exercise power with restraint and accord human dignity to accommodate all categories of people.
