Ginuwine’s real name is Elgin Baylor Lumpkin. He was born on October 15, 1970, in Washington, D.C. United States. He is 51 years old as of September 2022. The singer was named after MBA legend Elgin Baylor, a fellow D.C native.
Ginuwine is the first of three children born to his parents: James II Lumpkin (father) and Sandra Lumpkin (mother). His father reportedly committed suicide while his mother died of cancer barely a year later. According to reports, the singer struggled with grief and depression and also thought of committing suicide as well.
