JUST IN: Kaduna Governor, Uba Sani, signs 2024 Budget into Law

Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has signed into law the 2024 appropriation bill in a ceremony held today at the Council Chambers.

The N458,271,299,477.66 budget, christened “Budget of Rural Transformation for Inclusive Development,” is aimed at revitalising rural communities and promoting equitable growth across the state.

Mukhtar Ahmed, the state commissioner for planning and budget commission, who unveiled the initial draft during a town hall meeting, gave the details of the distribution of resources in the budget. According to him, N139.434 billion is committed to recurrent expenditure and N318.836 billion towards capital projects.

Agriculture received N22.549 billion, with N1.247 billion being allocated to business, innovation, and technology initiatives. Additionally, N7.944 billion is earmarked for housing and urban development.

Other allocations were given to crucial sectors like public works and infrastructure (N67.131 billion), education (N82.554 billion), health (N53.137 billion), and social development (N21.827 billion).
