The monarch commended the NGO for its initiative to reach out to the needy and vulnerable in the society said such gesture should be emulated by those in affluent so as to give succour to the needy because, the economy situation in the country makes it difficult for some family to feed themselves, adding that, the gesture should not be limited to only yuletide period alone, but should be a regular thing. Akinsanya noted that he wants to keep encouraging the sweepers so as to give them the sense of belonging and the love that they desire to make them understand that their contribution to the development of Lagos state is not taken for granted. He however, added that he started the initiative three years ago, with gift to 250 sweepers and last year it was increased to 400 sweepers in Igbogbo, but this year the entire old Ikorodu division was taken care of with 700 sweepers benefiting, while he intended to take care of all sweepers in the entire state next year.
