Mohbad: Iyabo Ojo Threatens To Sue Naira Marley For N1bn Over Singer’s Demands

Nigerian actress, Iyabo Ojo, has threatened to sue singer Naira Marley for N1billion if he fails to sue her.

LEADERSHIP recalls that lawyers of Azeez Fashola, a.k.a Naira Marley, had demanded a public apology and N500m in damages from Iyabo Ojo, citing a September 2023 Instagram post by the actress, where she allegedly accused the singer of engaging in “spiritual and physical dealings” with a late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, a.k.a Mohbad and allegedly causing the deceased “mental harm.”

Naira Marley’s lawyer, Olalekan Ojo, had outlined the accusations in a letter to Iyabo Ojo, which she now claimed was leaked to the media and public space “but deliberately not delivered or served” on her.

In her response to the letter, which was addressed to Niara Marley’s lawyer and made public via her verified Instagram page on Monday, Iyabo Ojo’s lawyers described Naira Marley’s letter as a social media blackmail.

“Our client would’ve ordinarily dismissed your letter dated 12th December 2023 for being outrightly inconsequential and of no relevance, premised on your failure to transmit the correspondence till this very day.

“Our client finds your client’s demands spurious, frivolous and clout-chasing but shall initiate an action in case your client fails to do so. Our client shall be claiming the sum of one billion naira,” the actress’ lawyers wrote.

Iyabo Ojo’s lawyers further stated that Naira Marley’s letter was intended to cause grievous harm.
