Jubilation As Appeal Court Upholds Fintiri’s Election Victory

Residents of Yola, the capital of Adamawa State, flooded the streets in jubilation following the decision of the Court of Appeal in Abuja to uphold Governor Ahmadu Fintiri’s election victory.

The court’s ruling also validated the judgment of the Adamawa State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, affirming the win of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Fintiri.

Amidst the scorching sun, party supporters and officials commenced their celebration from the party secretariat along Ahmadu Bello Way, proceeding joyfully through Mohammad Mustapha Way en route to Ibrahim Attah Street in the state capital.

The enthusiastic supporters engaged drummers and local entertainers to animate the atmosphere, celebrating Governor Fintiri’s electoral success.

Speaking on behalf of the jubilant supporters, Sadiq Kauraye, a leader among them, expressed their elation, citing the consistent triumphs Governor Fintiri has achieved throughout the legal processes.

The Court of Appeal in Abuja dismissed the petition filed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its governorship candidate, Aisha ‘Binani’ Dahiru, seeking to nullify Fintiri’s election victory.

The court upheld the decision of the governorship election petition tribunal, affirming Fintiri’s rightful election as governor of Adamawa State.

The gubernatorial election in the state had been marred by controversy when the suspended Resident Electoral Commissioner, Hudu Yunusa-Ari, controversially declared Aisha Binani of the APC as the winner before abruptly leaving the state after the announcement.
