Ogun Assembly Workers join nationwide strike

In order to emphasize their demand for the implementation of financial autonomy for the state legislatures, members of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria, Ogun State Chapter, have joined other employees of state Houses of Assembly worldwide in going on an indefinite strike.

The group’s emergency congress was held on Monday at the Assembly complex in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta. Ojediran Ayotunde, the Chairman of the Ogun Chapter, led other executives in addressing the assembly. He stated that the move was taken strictly in accordance with the national secretariat’s directive.
