HPV vaccine doesn’t promote promiscuity – First lady of Lagos State

First lady of Lagos state said this on Monday during the inauguration of the HPV vaccines into Lagos State routine immunisation programme.

“HPV is a common sexually transmitted virus; an individual can get HPV by having vaginal, anal or oral sex with someone who has the virus”.

Almost all cervical cancer cases (99%) are linked to infection with high-risk HPV. According to her, HPV vaccine is a powerful tool in the prevention of cervical cancer, which affects many women globally.
