Ethiopian Airlines narrates role in alleged fraud to set up Nigeria Air project

After keeping mute for a long time over the controversial Nigeria Air project, a national carrier envisioned by the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari and championed by his Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, Ethiopian Airlines has finally broken its silence.

There had been criticisms over the deal, as many called it a fraud, given the circumstances surrounding its alleged establishment, and how Nigerians were hoodwinked with a repainted aircraft for launch of the project two days before the exit of the last administration.

The airline, reputed to be the largest in Africa, through its Group Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Mesfin Tasew revealed that the airline was almost withdrawing from the deal but was prevailed upon by the federal government.
