More trouble for Peseiro as another Super Eagles striker gets injured ahead of Saudi Arabia game

The Super Eagles play Saudi Arabia and Mozambique in the upcoming international break, but Peseiro will be without some of his best legs

Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi sustained an injury and had to be taken off in Nice’s 1-0 victory over Metz at the Stade Saint-Symphorien Soccernet reports.

Moffi has been in fine form for Nice in recent weeks, scoring three goals in his last five games for the club. He was in the starting lineup when Nice traveled to Metz, and he had a decent performance, registering 35 touches, one shot, and one dribble.

Unfortunately for him, he was taken off in the 67th minute as he could not continue because of an injury.

Nice held on to win 1-0 but the extent of Moffi’s injury is yet to be ascertained. However, with just days left before Nigeria’s friendly against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique, the 24-year-old is a huge doubt. He was included in coach Jose Peseiro’s 25-man squad, but he may have to be replaced.

His injury comes after Taiwo Awoniyi was ruled out of Nottingham Forest’s game against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

With their injuries, it is very unlikely that both players would make it just in time for the opening of the Super Eagles camp which should be during the upcoming week.

Nigeria play Saudi Arabia on the 13th of October, then they play Mozambique three days later.
