APGA ‘ll adopt humanist approach to solve Nigeria’s problems if I’m elected president – Prof Umeadi

Prof Peter Umeadi, the former Chief Judge of Anambra state is the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA). In this interview with EMEKA NZE, he speaks on why the inauguration of the party’s Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) is being delayed, his blueprint to tackle the nation’s challenges, among other issues.

Yes, the campaigns officially started September 28 and as you remember. You see that this is a different political culture because the way things are happening we tend to lose sight of that. We are now going to have elections many months, about five months after the candidates have been selected by their parties. Before, it used to be a quick fix and then it didn’t allow people to really find out what the candidates were made of in essence. And it shouldn’t be so, there shouldn’t be any hurry. It’s a new culture and it should be so, there shouldn’t be any hurry when picking up the biggest political position in the country. So I’m comfortable with it. It gives time for one to strategise, to rally the party, rally supporters and that’s what we are doing and as I’m speaking with you now, in a matter of days, we will announce our Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), then we hope to follow it up with our official flag off. That’s all for now.
