Fani-Kayode blasts Obasanjo for ordering Oyo monarchs to stand, says he ‘degenerated’ them

Reactions have continued to trail former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s ordering of traditional Rulers in Oyo State to stand up and sit down, with a former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode describing Obasanjo’s action as a “grave insult to the Yoruba people and our traditional institutions.”

Obasanjo was shown in viral videos making the rounds tongue-lashing the Obas in Oyo state for not standing to honour him, and consequently ordered them to “stand and sit.”

In his reaction in a lengthy post on X on Saturday, Fani-Kayode said it was saddening that Obasanjo once known for respecting monarchs degenerated into bullying them.
