Transfers: Ex-Chelsea coach aims to lure Super Eagles’ Ndidi to Germany

Wilfred Ndidi has featured in all Leicester City matches this season following weeks of speculation linking him with a move away from the club, scoring a goal for the Championship club

Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are considering making a move for Wilfred Ndidi before the end of the transfer window, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 26-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from the King Power Stadium this summer following the club’s relegation from the Premier League last term. But the exit rumor has quenched down in recent weeks with Ndidi appearing in all of Leicester City’s five matches this season.

However, in the latest development, Bayern Munich are showing concrete interest in luring the Super Eagles midfielder to the Bundesliga this summer according to German outlet Kicker.

Bayern head coach Thomas Tuchel is a long-time admirer of Ndidi, with the German tactician initially looking to work with the Nigeria International at Paris Saint-Germain before he was sacked by the French club.

The club is looking for a low-budget defensive midfielder and Ndidi is valued at £25m with a year left on his contract with Leicester City.

With the aim of not allowing Ndidi to leave for free when his current contract expires at the end of the 2023/24 season, Leicester are working to see the 26-year-old extend his contract for a year.

Ndidi signed for the club from Belgian side KRC Genk in 2016 and has since made 242 appearances in all competitions, registering 12 goals and 12 assists.
