Breaking: Abba Kyari finally gets freedom

  • Federal High Court, Abuja, has granted suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Abba Kyari a N50 million bail
  • Kyari, who was arrested in February 2022, was accused of failing to declare assets to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA)
  • Kyari, who had been in confinement since 2022, was said to be “a member of a cartel that operates the Brazil-Ethiopia-Nigeria illicit substance pipeline”

FCT, Abuja – Federal High Court, Abuja, on Thursday, July 6, granted bail at N50 million to suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Abba Kyari, in a charge in which he and two of his siblings are accused of failing to declare assets to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

The NDLEA had filed the 24-count charge, marked: FHC/ABJ/CR/408/2022, against Kyari and his two siblings – Mohammed Baba Kyari and Ali Kyari – in respect of which they were arraigned in June 2023.
