The Ambassador at Large of the International Human Rights Commission to African Region, Malami Shehu has said that the 9-point agenda of the Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu will salvage the state.
According to Shehu, the 9-point agenda which include: security, religion, education, youth development, economic growth amongst others will pull the state from the brink.
Shehu noted that from all available statistics, Sokoto State is ranked as the state with the highest poverty rate in Nigeria and urged the Governor to intensify efforts to eradicate the anomaly.
The Ambassador also invited all prominent citizens of the state to join hands together with the Governor in making sure that the 9-point agenda is realised and fully implemented.
Furthermore, he prayed that Almighty God grant the Governor the strength and will to implement the agenda to the latter.
Responding, Governor Aliyu assured Shehu that he is committed to reversing the negative indices that portrayed the state with the highest poverty rate.
He also assured that his nine point agenda would set the state among the most competitive states in the country.
