Human rights activist and former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in the 2023 presidential elections, Omoleye Sowore, has accused ex-military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (retd.), of using the recent launching of his book, ‘A Journey In Service’, to raise funds for his library and not an avenue to seek genuine forgiveness from Nigerians for annulling the June 12, 1993 presidential election.
Sowore who made the allegations on Tuesday night during an interview session on Arise TV, said Babangida exploited the opportunity to raise billions of naira to fund his personal library project by playing on the intelligence of the Nigerian populace.
The convener of #RevolutionNow noted that Babangida’s acknowledgment that the election which had been acknowledged as the freest and fairest in the history of the country was won by Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola, was merely a tactic to secure funds.
