The Bauchi State Government has strongly criticized Sunday Dare, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, for his remarks targeting Governor Bala Mohammed over the governor’s critique of the Tax Reform Bills.
In a statement titled “Sunday Dare’s Divisive and Unprofessional Rhetoric: Enough is Enough,” Mukhtar Gidado, Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, defended Governor Mohammed’s stance, emphasizing his respect for the Office of the President while maintaining that constructive criticism is a cornerstone of democracy.
“Respect does not preclude critique in a democracy,” Gidado stated. “We urge Mr. Dare to channel his efforts towards promoting the President’s policies and achievements, if any, rather than disparaging those offering constructive feedback.”
