Christmas In Lagos

Capturing the Lagos life during the Christmas season, this romantic drama follows four friends navigating love, heartbreak, and cultural expectations. 

Fiyin, who is convinced her best friend Elo is the love of her life, is shocked when he returns home for the holidays with a secret fiancée. The film features Teniola Aladese, Richard Mofe, Shaffy Bello, Rayxia Ojo, Wale Ojo, and Shalom Obiago. 

Suspicion

Based on Igho’s 2008 short film The Suspicious Guy, this thriller explores the lives of victims affected by ritual practices. 

The film, currently streaming on Prime Video, Suspicion follows a young man who delves into the sinister world of black magic after the brutal murder of his best friend and his daughter. 

As he hunts for vengeance, he faces moral dilemmas and shocking betrayals threatening to shatter his closest relationships. Suspicion has an ensemble cast including, Stan Nze, Omowunmi Dada, Kalu Ikeagwu, Uzor Arukwe, Shaffy Bello, Tina Mba, Ashafa ‘Small Mummy’ Salamot, Francis Sule, Boma Akpore, Tony Akposheri, and Esegine Orezi Allen. 

Tokunbo

Premiered on Netflix on August 23, 2024, Tokunbo is directed by Ramsey Nouah. The film has been critically acclaimed to be “an artfully executed Nigerian thriller.” 

Starring Gideon Okeke in the lead role, the film follows an ex-car smuggler who has a few hours to deliver a government official’s daughter to her captor.

The film also features Chidi Mokeme, Majid Michael, Norbert Young, Funlola Aofiyebi-Raimi, Stanley Chibunna, and Darasimi Nadi.

House of Ga’a

House of Ga’a was the most-watched Netflix film in Nigeria for sixweeks and also topped the global chart of non-English speaking films for two weeks. 

Set in the 18th-century Oyo Empire, House of Ga’a is a story based on the ferocious and feared Bashorun Gaa who became more powerful than the kings that ruled over him. 

Power drunk, he becomes a kingmaker himself presiding over who gets to rule and who is dethroned. House of Ga’a explores power, treachery, and a legacy left behind. 

Directed by Bolanle Austen-Peters, the film stars Femi Branch, Mike Afolarin, Funke Akindele, Toyin Abraham, Ibrahim Chatta, Dele Odule, Bimbo Manuel, Lateef Adedimeji, Femi Adebayo, Gabriel Afolayan, Jide Oyegbile, Seun Akindele, ⁠Yemi Blaq, Adeniyi Johnson, Muyiwa Ademola, Willam Benson, Gbenga Titiloye, and ⁠Kunle Coker. 

With Difficulty Comes Ease

Burdened with financial woes and a secret pregnancy, an unlikely friendship becomes her lifeline as she confronts her grief and redefines her aspirations in a struggle to move on. 

Streaming on Prime Video, the film stars  Uzoamaka Aniunoh, Ummi Baba Ahmed, Caleb Richard and Michelle Dede.

Soft Love

At the heart of Soft Love is a captivating story about two characters: Zandi J, a soft love podcast host who has recently been served a big embarrassing slice of heartbreak pie, and Edward Obi, an ambitious Nigerian photographer who soon becomes the new object of Zandi’s love. 

Its cast members include Efa Iwara, Rosemary Zimu, Dorcas Shola Fapson, Genovevo Umeh, and Carol King.

The Beads

In The Beads, explore the delicate balance between life and lingering pain, where the outward appearance of moving on conceals the turmoil within.
