“He’s proven his worth” – Ex-Super Eagles star urges Lazio to sign Dele-Bashiru permanently

Former Super Eagles and Olympique De Marseille left-back, Taye Ismaila Taiwo, has urged two-time Italian Serie A winners, Lazio, to sign Fisayo Ayodele-Bashiru permanently, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 23-year-old midfielder joined Marco Baroni’s side on loan from Turkish side, Hatayspor with an option to buy included in the deal, which will cost about €4 million should the Italian side decide to pursue the deal.

The Manchester City Academy Graduate has been a regular in the UEFA Europa League for The Eaglets this season, but has struggled to impose himself in the first team during league games.

Ayodele-Bashiru has accrued just 342 minutes of league action this term, scoring one goal, with their coach revealing the midfielder has a lot to learn in adapting to the tactical and technical demands of his new environment.

Taye Taiwo, who also played in the Serie A during his time with AC Milan, albeit very few games, revealed the young midfielder’s loan spell so far has proven he’ll be a worthy buy for the one-time UEFA Super Cup winners.

“Instead, I would prefer to sign for Lazio, because the scene is much more prestigious. He has already proved his worth since his arrival, with five-goal contributions in 13 games for a midfielder. This represents a great opportunity, for Dele-Bashiru, Lazio and Hatayspor,” the former QPR left-back said in quotes revealed by Africa Foot.

Lazio are currently 4th on the Serie A table, six points behind Ademola Lookman’s Atalanta, who are joint-top of the league alongside Inter Milan.
