Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has appealed to the people of Rivers State to support the administration of President Bola Tinubu.
Wike made the call during an end-of-the year thanksgiving service at Ochiba community in Ahoada-East local government area of the state.
The service was organised by leaders and stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ahoada-East and Ahoada-West LGAs of the state.
The event was attended by former governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu; senator representing Rivers East Senatorial district at the National Assembly, Allwell Onyesoh; PDP state chairman, Hon. Chukwuemeka Aaron and chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Chief Tony Okocha.
The minister, who is the immediate-past governor of the state, assured that he would use his position to help the people of the state.
Speaking on the political crisis in Rivers State, Wike advised his supporters not to be perturbed but to remain firm.
In his speech, former deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Prince Chibudom Nwuche, praised Wike for his exemplary leadership in public offices held.
Nwuche said: “I want to thank President Tinubu for appointing somebody of Wike’s capacity as minister of the Federal Capital Territory. He has transformed the Nigerian capital and he really transformed Rivers State while serving as governor. Our people are fully in support of you.”
