The Police Command in Anambra has urged members of the public, especially residents of Onitsha and Ihiala to assist with the efforts to locate the parents of 15-year-old Chibuike Onyebuchi.
Onyebuchi, who hails from Ihiala Local Government Area (LGA) of the state was allegedly abducted recently in Onitsha and found recently in Kogi. SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) said this when he addressed newsmen on Thursday in Awka.
“The Anambra state police command has called on the general public, particularly residents of Onitsha and Ihiala environs, to assist with the identification of one Master Chibuike Damian Onyebuchi, male, 15.
“The said boy who hails from Ihiala LGA, Anambra State was abducted in Onitsha but was found recently in Kogi state,” he said.
Ikenga said that Onyebuchi was currently in the safe custody of the police command in Kogi state. He said that during an interview with Onyebuchi by police operatives, he alleged that he was abducted in Onitsha and taken to an unknown location before his escape.
“To this end, the command seeks the assistance of the public to help disseminate widely alongside the attached picture for possible identification and reunification with his family.”
