Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen scored for Galatasaray to help them claim a 3-2 victory over Sivasspor at the Yeni 4 Eylul Stadyumu, Soccernet.ng reports.
Osimhen returned to action for Galatasaray when they traveled to Sivas to take on Sivasspor. Recall that the Nigerian striker has been in brilliant form for the Lions since he joined, so he led the attack.
Galatasaray started on top and were the better side from the blast of the whistle. Osimhen had an early opportunity to score, but his effort just went wide off the target.
Unfortunately for Galatasaray, they were reduced to ten men in the 15th minute, after Metehan Baltaci was sent off for a bad foul. Just ten minutes later, Sivasspor took the lead courtesy of Garry Rodrigues.
After going down, the Lions stepped up the ante and started pushing for the equalizer. They eventually got it in the 37th minute, courtesy of Yunus Akgun.
It looked like the first half would end in a draw, but Galatasaray had other ideas, as they won a penalty late. Osimhen made no mistake from close range, as he struck from the spot to make it 2-1.
Galatasaray started the second half well, and they got their third through Baris Alper Yilmaz in the 53rd minute.
Sivasspor had their chances to score, but they failed to utilize them. Osimhen played 74 minutes before he was taken off for Victor Nelsson.
Before he was taken off, Osimhen registered three goals attempts, three dribbles, and 23 touches.
Turac Boke scored late for Sivasspor, but that was not enough for them as it ended 3-2 after 90 minutes.
