Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman has returned to light training at Atalanta, days after he left the Super Eagles camp due to an injury scare, Soccernet.ng reports.
Lookman has been the most reliable outlet for Nigeria in the past year, and he was expected to deliver the goods again in this international break.
The Atalanta man played for Nigeria in their first game against Benin at Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny. But he failed to deliver the goods, as the Super Eagles had to settle for a 1-1 draw.
Then, on Sunday, before Nigeria’s game against Rwanda, it was revealed that Lookman had returned to Atalanta due to a minor injury.
It appears that the former Leicester City man is now close to full fitness. According to Calcio News24, the former Leicester City man returned to light training on Wednesday. This indicates that Lookman could return to full action very soon.
Atalanta’s next game is against Parma at the Stadio Ennio Tardini on Saturday. Coach Gian Pero Gasperini will be hoping that his star attacker returns to action just before the fixture. Lookman has been involved in one-third of La Dea’s 30 goals in the Serie A this season. If they are going to get anything out of the game, Lookman would have to be firing on all cylinders.
