Minimum Wage: NLC, Niger govt sign agreement on Nov implementation

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Niger State Chapter, has disclosed that the payment of the new minimum wage of N80,000 to workers across the board by the Niger State government at the end of November 2024 is sacrosanct.

The Chairman, NLC, Niger State Chapter, Comrade Abdulkareem Idris Lafene, gave this assurance during a telephone conversation with The Guardian in Minna on Saturday, November 16, 2024.

Lafene explained that the NLC is working round the clock to ensure that the government commences implementation of the new wage by November 2024, as earlier promised by Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago.

The NLC boss commended the Niger State government team for their unwavering efforts in successfully signing the new minimum wage agreement between the NLC and the state government.
