Ondo State governor and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Lucky Ayedatiwa, has been declared the winner of Saturday’s governorship election.
The announcement was made on Sunday during the state collation exercise by the Returning Officer for the election, Prof. Olayemi Akinwumi, who also serves as the vice-chancellor of the Federal University, Lokoja, Kogi State.
Ayedatiwa emerged victorious with a total of 366, 781 votes, defeating his closest rival, Mr. Festus Akingbaso, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who secured 117, 845.
The APC candidate won in 18 local government areas announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
