A Nigeria firm, BFIG and the Chinese National Chemical Engineering Company (CNCEC) have signed deal for a gas processing plant in Ikot Abasi, Akwa Ibom State towards revamping the multi million naira Aluminium Smelter Company of Nigeria (ALSCON).
The smelter has been bogged down by ownership tussle between BFIG and a Russian firm, Rusal which emerged as the preferred bider when the plant was privatized by the Obasanjo administration.
