INEOS has reportedly made a bold move by cancelling the annual Christmas party for Man United staff, signalling Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s firm approach since taking over at the club. This decision follows the recent removal of Sir Alex Ferguson as the club’s global ambassador, a role he had held since stepping away from management in 2013.
According to The Athletic, the cancellation of the Christmas bash is part of broader cost-cutting measures implemented by Ratcliffe and INEOS after acquiring a minority stake in Manchester United earlier this year. These changes have also seen several senior staff members lose their club credit cards and being required to contribute to travel expenses for events like the FA Cup final in May.
