Casio confirms ransomware attack that compromised customer data

Japanese electronics manufacturing company, Casio, has admitted that a ransomware incident earlier this month compromised confidential and private data.

The attack happened after the company had found unauthorized network access on October 5 and the Underground ransomware operation took credit for the intrusion.

In a post on its dark web, the Underground ransomware organization claimed responsibility for the attack, which caused a system failure and certain service interruptions and revealed multiple pieces of data purportedly stolen from the computers of the Japanese IT company.
