The case in question involves 27 former members of the Rivers State House of Assembly who vacated their seats after defecting from the PDP to the All Progressives Congress (APC). The letter allegedly contradicts the party’s official position on the matter.
The NWC condemned the actions of Damagum and Anyanwu, noting that their conduct violates the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017) and breaches the oath of office they swore to uphold. According to the party, their behavior amounts to gross misconduct and undermines the party’s integrity.
