The Senate has confirmed the nomination of Prof. Abdullahi Saleh for appointment as Chairman of National Hajj Commission (NHC).
Tid followed the consideration of the report of the Committee on Foreign Affairs presented by the chairman, Sen. Bello, Sani Abubakar ( Niger North).
Senator Bello informed the Senate that Prof. Abdullahi Saleh was screen by the committee and found highly qualified, adding that the nominee answered the senators’ questions well, just there was no petition against him from any quarter.
Therefore, he urged his colleagues to approve the nomination of Prof Abdullahi Saleh as Chairman of National Hajj Commission.
Senators who contributed spoke in support of the nominee as someone who has the required experience in Hajj operations haven lived in Saudi Arabia before.
It will be recalled that President Bola Tinubu recently nominated Prof. Abdullahi Saleh for appointment as Chairman of National Hajj Commission to replace Jalal Arabi who was sacked for corruption.
